I had posters of Barry on my wall as a kid in Zimbabwe. He was a ledged.
I was passed by Barry going through clearways at Brands Hatch.. it was just a Wednesday 'free practice' session but I will always remember it. He truly left his mark and brought the world of motorcycle racing into the public eye, bringing big names like Faberge into the fray, using his wit and humour to good effect at every opportunity and simply having fun. He lived life in his own singular way and, in doing so, gathered a multitude of followers and admirers who still won't go away!
Pretty great post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted gdcdkeddgeed
