First saw Barry, Oulton Park 1970, when I was eight years old. Followed his career from that day onwards. Met and spoke to him and Paul Smart many times at various circuits. He allways had time for fans and was a real character. I remember as a youngster I first saw his bike with slick tyres on, I shouted "hey Barry you have no tread on your tyres!!" he then spent a good few minutes explaining the technology behind them in a way I could understand. I have a collection of Barry items He gave me over the years which I cherish, and He has inspired me in business, I never forget his quote "Dont wait for your ship to come in, go out and meet the bloody thing!!"
very well done. Doing a rg500 replica 1984 livery and will send pics if you want when ready. Hopefully before the Barry Sheene memorial ride, every year at Phillip Island during the MotoGP.
Te gekke site eindelijk iets moois over Barry Sheene mijn motorheld in Nederland, dankzij hem reed ik Suzuki tot 24 augustus '84 en zou het morgen weer doen als het kon en mocht.
